by the book urban hub

The conceptual proposal reimagines the structure as an Urban Hub, integrating gastronomic venues, social gathering spaces and flexible areas for diverse public activities.

Originally an entertainment venue for Ankara’s intellectual community, the proposal reinterprets this legacy as a contemporary Urban Hub. The concept expands the idea of a book club into an open, inclusive framework for social interaction and knowledge exchange.
Intervention defines the design approach. New architectural layers engage the existing structure through contrast, using materials such as concrete, brick, and mesh to articulate a contemporary addition while preserving the building’s identity.
